On Thursday 20 November 2025 at 7 pm, JW3 in partnership with Harif, the UK Association of Jews from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) , is hosting the official UK Commemoration of the Departure and Exodus of Jews from Arab countries and Iran, in the presence of communal leaders and diplomats.

A day in the calendar to remember the Jewish refugees was instituted by the Knesset in 2014.  This year’s commemoration will not have a specific theme, but will embrace ALL 11 countries from which Jews were forced to flee.

This year marks Harif ‘s 20th birthday. It will be an extra special occasion – not just to remember the million Jews who were driven from their ancient MENA communities, but to celebrate their rich heritage.

The evening will feature a compilation of testimonies by Ciara Shalome of the Instagram sensation TheMizrahistory. The band Eastern Beats will be demonstrating the rich musical culture of the ancient Jewish communities. We will have more surprises in store at the reception which will follow. Recording here.
