Golden Age? Convivencia? or What?

2 March 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Tuesday, 2 March, 7:00 pm UK time.

Did the Jews in Medieval Islamic Spain experience a Golden Age of intellectual brilliance? Was there ‘convivencia’, or coexistence, between Jews and Muslims, or is it a product of wishful thinking? Dr Noam (Norman) A Stillman, emeritus professor of Judaic History at Oklahoma University, will give us his verdict on this important, but controversial period.
