Baghdad Mon Amour – book launch

19 March 2013 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Tuesday 19 March – 7.30pm

The launch of ‘Baghdad Mon Amour’, a memoir by Shmuel Moreh, Emeritus Professor of Arabic Language and Literature at the Hebrew University, is the focus of a lively evening celebrating Iraqi-Jewish literature. Professor Moreh will discuss his memories of Baghdad, whose serialisation on an Arabic website caused a sensation among Arab readers. Professor Moreh will be joined by other members of the Association of Academics from Iraq in Israel, who will read and discuss Iraqi-Jewish writing. We are also hoping that two non-Jewish Iraqi writers, scholar Mazin Latif and poet Jabbar al-Din, will be able to join us from Iraq for the occasion. The Sephardi Centre, Maida Vale, W9. £10 including light refreshments. To book email or tel 07506033848.
