Fifty years since the outbreak of the Six-Day war, Nigel Grizzard will revisit the events leading to the demise of the Jewish community of Aden, and the role of the Lancashire Regiment in saving Jews from murderous riots. His illustrated talk is dedicated to Abraham Marks, the headmaster of the Jewish school burnt down in the tumult. Nigel Grizzard is an expert on Yorkshire Jewry and became fascinated with the Jews of Aden after meeting Abraham Marks, who became CEO of the Board of Deputies. Suggested donation: £10.
