from Morocco, Syria, Iraq, Kurdistan, Yemen and others and their
significance for Jewish culture and the Jewish magical tradition
since antiquity. Illustrated by images of oriental Jewish magical
manuscripts, amulets and other objects.
Gideon Bohak graduated from The Hebrew University, Jerusalem and from Princeton
University. He is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor at the Department
of Jewish Culture and Religious Studies at Tel Aviv University.
